Sunny Li explores the relationship between the digital and the physical through her investigation of leaves.

By using a combination of digital painting to visualize the leaf blade and code to create the vein patterns, she reveals the algorithmic nature of plant growth. Each piece results from the inputting of different parameters into a venation algorithm, simulating the effect of different variables such as the amount of sunlight on the growth of leaves.
