Rawley Clark

Rawley Clark considers her relationship to Blackness and beauty and how this has changed and stayed the same over time.

By juxtaposing snippets of The Skin I’m In, A Poem About My Black by Jennifer Aseidy, she examines familiar concepts of Black culture and revisits a piece she created freshman year at Stanford. In her larger painting, Clark explores the Black body and Earth, and the ways that love leads to growth and lightness.
